Régis Dericquebourg was assistant–professor in the University Charles De Gaulle-Lille3 (France) and a permanent member of the Group for the Study of Religions and Secularity (laïcité) at the National Center for the Scientific Studies in Paris.
He is now associate-professor at the FVG.

He wrote a doctoral thesis on the Jehovah’s Witnesses (1975-1979) and has continued research on this movement.

In 1986, he began studies on healing churches publishing such books as Healing Religions (1988), The Antoinists (1993), The Christian Scientists (1999), and To Believe and to Heal (2001), completing an habilitation in this area in 2000. 
He is author of more than fifty scientific articles in the sociology of minority religious groups and he contributes to many world conference of sociology of religion. He contributed to collective books such as Scientology (Jim Lewis, 2009). He also has research interests in religious discrimination and the prophetic personality.

He published numerous articles also in Acta Comparanda & Acta Comparanda - Subsidia II. His paper entitled "The Rise of a prophetism in an industrial society. Market rationality and the economy of charisma. A propos de Charles Taze Russell" will be published in Subsidia III.
